About Over the Edge safe professionals that will be training and
supervising the event: |
Over
the Edge (company
website)
is a special events company that provides signature events for
non-profit organizations anywhere in North America. Participants are
invited to raise pledges in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime
experience of going over the edge of a local building. Our company
has been the creative force behind rappelling events all over Canada
and The United States including the original 1801 Drop Zone, and
subsequent Easter Seals Drop Zone, Drop Zone USA and Over the Edge.
These have been developed either exclusively or in partnership with
our company.
This signature event consistently
raises six figures in revenue, grabs front page headlines and
provides exclusive regional licenses for our non-profit partners.
Over the Edge takes care of all technical aspects for the event
including the insurance, professional staff, state-of-the art
equipment and provides a comprehensive Best Practices Manual. We
ensure all federal and state safety laws are strictly followed. The main differences between recreational climbing guides and our industrial professionals is the regulations enforced by the IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) counsel. This counsel is a strict regulatory body that has regimented guidelines and safety protocols that are closely tied into Workers Compensation and state labor codes. Our Over the Edge event staff ensures that IRATA regulations are met. Across the United States, any Over The Edge site is considered an industrial work site and is covered under OSHA and state labor and safety acts. The site location will be signed off and approved by our Chief Technical Officer and managed by an on-site Level 3 IRATA professional.
